I suppose there are two kinds of intellectual terrorism, when you use your brains to terrorize people and when you use them to blow up the whole intellectual edifice. My mom repeatedly told me, "You're not Jerry Garcia," which was true, and "You can't change the world," which was false. I don't know how this plays out, but in the fields I have examined, the academics are being dishonest on fundamental points. This goes all the way up to people like Chomsky, Thomas Kuhn, Karl Popper, all of it. Oxford and Cambridge are sort of like the New York Times of the Western intellectual world, and they have completely misrepresented intellectual history, to the extent that they slandered the greatest citizen their nation ever produced, Francis Bacon. To be quite candid, I have no idea how it plays out, I just know what I have found in two decades of digging.
