I don't want to belabor the point, but I was just thinking, about P.G. Wodehouse and Francis Bacon. No one did more in terms of public relations for the English than those two, in Bacon's case quite literally, having to write state propaganda. How were they handled by the English? Well, they ran Wodehouse out of the country, and Bacon had to fake his own death and flee to the continent, lest his death be procured involuntarily, knowing too much about the murder of king James. Over the past two centuries, the English literati have poured all kinds of abuse on Bacon, the greatest person their nation ever produced, the Incarnate Word.
What did I say? A prophet has no honor in his own nation? You would have to be deliberately obtuse not to see this here.
