How did you get into comedy?

In a roundabout way. I was trying to be serious for a long time. Shakespeare, Machiavelli, God and all the rest of it. I wasn't getting anywhere, so I thought, maybe try a different approach. If you want to reach the people, try to meet them halfway. It's not something I want to do indefinitely, though, I'm not so much an entertainer.
