I loved the Far Side as a kid, I had a bunch of the books, I even bought one here in La Paz at the English bookstore. Before that I liked Shel Silverstein a lot. There was also a book I liked as a kid called The Phantom Tollbooth. We didn't have serious literature in the house, the novels were like Dick Francis and James Clavell, Tom Clancy, that kind of stuff. And I read the World Book encyclopedia a lot, I was bonkers about animals. My favorite were birds of prey and snakes. We lived in a wooded area, and I used to go find snakes and take them around to the houses in the neighborhood and ring the doorbell, and scare the women.
